NIGHT OF THE SENSES 2007

Formerly the Sex Maniacs Ball, the Night of the Senses is the UK's biggest annual erotic extravaganza. While other events specialise in fetish, BDSM, burlesque or swinging, the charity fundraising NoS takes in just about everything!
This year, the event took place in the expansive Mass and Babalou club in Brixton - a popular choice for similar events (Torture garden use it regularly) though its location is somewhat off-putting - the surrounding area has a palpable air of menace, and the idea of having to leave there in the hours of darkness was not a nice one.
Once inside though, all concerns dissipate as the heady atmosphere hits home.
We've arrived late tonight, and so missed the Erotic Awards which precede the club proper, and as we change clothes and start to explore, the event starts to come to life.
The NoS has plenty to keep you busy. There are the sideshows which have been a staple since the event began - the grope box, the cage, the dungeon - alongside large rooms set aside for play - one for couples and another for less rigid groupings. There was also a naked tent, which sadly seemed to be pretty dead - a handful of bored, naked men seemed less than inviting. Danish environmentalists Fuck For Forest were on hand too, engaging in assorted naughtiness with volunteers from the crowd.
Not everything worked, of course - the neatly named 'piddling pool' seemed to go pretty much unused throughout the night, possible because it was located outdoors and tucked away in the corner with no-one seemingly looking after it - as most people were nipping out just to smoke, I suspect few even noticed it. And if the promised dark room was there, it too was very well hidden.
Still, minor moans. At an event like this, you make your own fun, and as the night progressed and inhibitions were cast aside, lots of people clearly had lots of fun. In fact, sex was spilling out everywhere!
Night of the Senses is a unique event - one which every Lurid Girls reader should experience at least once.
