Emma Delves-Broughton's first book brings together an irresistible
collection of sultry colour and B&W fetish photos, all taken
in terribly British historical settings. Gorgeous latex-clad
models pose provocatively in castles and stately homes, looking
like they own these decadent places.
A few of the more outlandish and brightly coloured outfits are
eccentric, surreal even, but that lends Kinky Couture
an artistic quality lacking in some fetish collections. No one
but the saddest of prudes could describe EDB's images as smutty.
And, unlike some photographers who work in the field, she doesn't
encourage the models to grimace and glare at the camera, as
if on some BDSM related power trip. The ladies pose and pout
as you'd expect, yet still appear relaxed and playful.
Although diminutive in size (14 x 19 cm), there's a consistent
quality throughout this book that elevates it above some of
the run-of-the-mill fetish collections (after all, there are
so many nowadays). Pleasingly, Kinky Couture comes bound
in a soft, squishy cover that gives it even more appeal, like
one of those stress relief toys. And what a way to relieve stress...
