KILL
THRILL
DVD
Region 0. Private
On
the face of it, Privates Kill Thrill would seem
to have everything going for it. The moody cover art, the intriguing
premise a serial killer finds his past catching up with
him as the ghosts of his victim return to haunt him - and a
brooding opening all hint that this could be something special.
Sadly,
it all falls apart rather quickly.
While
the production values are as good as you would hope from Private,
the story rapidly disintigrates clearly the writers had
a good concept but then couldnt figure out what to do
with it, and so it soon deteriorates into a series of slick,
passionless couplings that involve beautiful people and sexy
costumes, but lack any sexual heat. Any sense of dark, brooding
sexuality and the deviant sexuality that the story is crying
out for are sadly lacking.
Oh,
and the dubbing of the lead actress usually achieved
by having her dialogue spoken while her face is off-camera
is incredibly distracting. A wasted opportunity, I fear.
