ABOUT LURID

Lurid Films are a UK based adult video production company specialising in cutting edge erotic movies with a rock 'n' roll attitude and a burlesque vibe, shot on HD. We will begin production early 2008.

LURID GIRLS is our cross-promotional, community site - spreading the word about Lurid Films and celebrating what we used to call Transgressive Culture - namely sex, fetishism, cult movies, horror, comics, exotic booze, alternative lifestyle, loud (and sometimes very quiet) music, computer games, decadence, deviation and depravity.

Our planned video projects include:

ï Light 'n' fluffy retro-style striptease, glamour and burlesque softcore films that could almost be wholesome family entertainment - think Bettie Page, Pamela Green, Harrison Marks etc

ï Fetish movies: more fashion and attitude than full-on BDSM, with a hint of kink, sub-dom and foot fetish

ï 'Alt. porn' (and yes, we hate that term as much as anyone, but at least it hopefully means you'll know what we're on about!).

ï And - for the future - zero budget horror movies, slavishly apeing the works of Jesus Franco, Jean Rollin and the like...

All this should be underway by the end of 2007. At present though, we are pornographers for hire, happy to collaborate with anyone who wants footage shooting and editing, on a share 'n' share alike basis. Contact us with your fabulous concept - we're more artistic and less grubby than the other guys...

We also produce music videos and documentaries, including the 10th anniversary Carnival of Souls documentary and dungeon side-project, the forthcoming Voyeurama and promo videos for Spank/Elena Josepha. We're keen to shoot more music video stuff for punk/metal/goth/alternative acts, as well as promo stuff for designers, artists and other creative types. We're not expensive.

Your Lurid Films crew have years of experience working in the 'sex industry', underground publishing, burlesque and fetish club promotion, the music business and the cult movie world as everything from writers to designers to film-makers to organisers. Ask us nicely and we'll tell all.

We'd love to hear from models and actors, male and female. We're looking for people with tattoos, piercings, body art, rock chicks, rockabilly girls and guys, goths, punks, strippers, burlesque performers, fetishists and libertarians for both our video projects and to be part of LURID GIRLS. Personality and attitude are more important than being drop-dead gorgeous (though that helps too...). We're looking for people who are into what they do and want to make credible erotica that stands out from the usual chav porn and bland girly movies, and who are not just in it for the money - which we currently have very little of! Naturally, nudity (at least!) is required.

Also: clothing and sex toy manufacturers, (or anyone else who can help us make movies that don't look as grim as a night out in Derby), locations, production crew, rock bands who want to appear on soundtracks (or are looking for promo/viral videos), magazines and websites, investors, sponsors, distributors and other industry types.

Oh, and of course, if you are simply into the same stuff as us, we'd be honoured to have you on board!
